We’re pleased to announce that Gridspace is hosting its third course for the MIT Independent Activities Period (IAP). In past years, we’ve hosted lecture series on speech, language, and machine learning. This year, Gridspace will be hosting Building Sound: Sound & Speech Synthesis!
Topics include physical acoustics, various musical sound synthesis techniques, and a detailed modern deep dive into neural voice synthesis. Guest speakers include the inventor of FM synthesis, early pioneers of speech synthesis, the inventor of Guitar Hero, Youtuber Ange Yaghi, and the synth hardware designers from Noise Engineering.
You’re invited, too! You can attend in several ways. If you’d like to attend remotely, simply sign up at iap.gridspace.com. If you’d like to attend some lectures in-person in Los Angeles (less than 5 miles from USC!), please sign up for individual lectures using the Luma links on the same site.
