Scientific Lightning Solutions (SLS) is seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Electrical Engineer to join our technical team in Merritt Island, Florida. This is not a conventional entry-level engineering role. The successful candidate will work directly with internationally recognized lightning subject-matter experts on projects involving electric power systems, electromagnetics, grounding and surge protection, advanced lightning instrumentation, high-speed data acquisition, field testing, scientific computing, data analytics, and the application of artificial intelligence to engineering problems.
SLS supports leading commercial and government organizations in aerospace, defense, nuclear and conventional power generation, energy, advanced manufacturing, and other mission-critical industries. The position combines rigorous engineering and solid science with real-world field implementation and offers substantial technical mentorship and professional-growth opportunities.
We are especially interested in candidates with a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and academic or project experience in power systems, electromagnetics, instrumentation, sensors, signal processing, controls, high voltage, data acquisition, Python, MATLAB, or related areas. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders). The position is full-time and primarily office-based in Merritt Island, with limited travel and hands-on field work.
