All undergraduate engineering students are invited to attend the Biomedical Engineering Spotlight Series Panel! This event will feature Viterbi alumni with experiences covering research and development, product management, startup founding, and event entertainment.
Alumni Panelists
- Kathleen Roche: Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering (2015) Masters in Biomedical Engineering in December 2016 (through PDP). Current Position – Senior Product Engineer at Medtronic in Northridge, CA. She works in R&D on the next generation Continuous Glucose Monitor product, owning design verification activities and processes.
- Karan Kanchan: Bachelors of Science: Biomedical Engineering (Major) & Kinesiology (Minor) (2014). Current Position – Founder & Inventor at Equilibrium by Vayu Technology, a patented wearable sensor and AI driven end-to-end biomechanics platform that helps in performance optimization, injury mitigation and expedited rehabilitation.
- Andy Chu: Bachelors and Masters of Science: Biomedical Engineering (2012). Current Position – Product Manager at Panoramic; a startup providing a single digital platform for marketers to automate data visualization, no coding required.
- Morgan Bowser: Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Biochemical Engineering (2012). Current Position – VP Operations at Vista Entertainment Solutions.
- Nicholas Wettels: PhD in Biomedical Engineering (2011). Current Position – R&D Director at OnRobot Los Angeles (former CEO of Perception Robotics), which focuses on developing novel gripping and sensing solutions for industrial robots. Dr. Wettels is also a part time lecturer at USC for BME-650: Biomedical Measurement and Instrumentation.
- Kyle Lynn: Bachelors and Masters of Science: Biomedical Engineering (2008) with an Electrical Engineering emphasis. Masters in Science of Engineering Management (2014). Current Position – Manager of the Manufacturing, Science, & Technology group at STAAR Surgical, which is responsible for validating existing equipment used in our production lines as well as determining new process improvements such as utilization of automation.
