The NBA is holding its annual hackathon, held in the greater New York/New Jersey area, on September 22. This is a great opportunity to leverage NBA statistics and to showcase programming, visualization and data skills in front of many distinguished judges as well as NBA team and league office hiring managers.
The 2018 NBA Hackathon will feature two tracks, basketball analytics and business analytics. Teams accepted to the Hackathon will build tools to solve important and challenging problems in the NBA. Their work will be presented to a panel of expert judges and an audience of NBA personnel, media, invited guests and the other competitors. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams of each track, with a grand prize that will include lunch with NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver!
The NBA Hackathon is open to current undergraduate, graduate students, or alumni. Only invited guests and competitors will be allowed to attend. You may apply directly here. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Deadline to apply is July 11.
