Career & Internship Expo: Trojan Talks

September 29th & September 30th, 2025

Both In-Person and Virtual options for Trojan Talks.

Each session is 1-hour long. We recommend limiting presentation time and allowing for ample time for networking at the end of your session.

Highlight your organization by hosting a Trojan Talk during Expo Week! Select from different times in the registration form. Students view and RSVP for Expo Trojan Talks they would like to attend.

Build student awareness of your organization, and increase student attendance at your booth during the Career Fair.
Specify what class levels and majors you would like to meet.

Login to Handshake > Career Fairs > Career & Internship Expo to register. Select the activities you would like to participate in and input the number of representatives that will attend.

Expo Trojan Talks will be hosted on the Viterbi Career Connections Zoom and in person on-campus.

Why Host an Expo Trojan Talk?

Gain access to our incredibly talented and diverse Viterbi student population, which consists of students from all over the world.
Engage more students! We use Zoom to host up to 300 engineering students at once. In-person Trojan Talks will have limited capacity.
Target your outreach by making your talk about a specific program, opportunity, or highlighting your current interns or engineers. This is your opportunity to get creative!
Highlight your organization, build student rapport and increase student awareness of your organization and openings, increase attendance at your booth at the Career Fair.

Every Career Expo Trojan Talk includes:

Dedicated marketing for your Trojan Talk through the Viterbi Career Connections communications, including: Email Campaign, Newsletter and Social Media.
Entry for as many panelists as you would like to the Zoom Webinar platform. Limited capacity for in-person Trojan Talks.
A dedicated time slot, we do not double book Trojan Talks.

On-campus Trojan Talks:

Location - On-Campus: On-campus Trojan Talks will be located in Michelson Hall or Ronald Tutor Hall. Your exact location will be emailed to you and sent to you in a calendar invitation. Maps to the building are below.
Time: You will have 1 hour to present your content and answer student questions. We encourage you to leave the bulk of your time to questions and engagement with the student attendees.
Questions & Answers: We advise you to allow plenty of time (at least 15 minutes) for students to ask questions and connect with you. We welcome you to stay to chat with students as long as you like, but After your allotted Trojan Talk time has passed you may be asked to move your conversation outside.

After you register for your on-campus Trojan Talk:

We will email you next steps with instructions and ask for any additional information.
A parking permit code will be provided to you, a maximum of 2 cars are allowed per Trojan Talk. Provide the code to the parking attendant to receive your parking pass.
You'll receive a calendar invitation with the details of your talk and how to access the room you'll be presenting in. We recommend you share this with all presenters to have in their calendars.

On the date and time of your talk:

Plan to arrive 30 minutes prior to your Trojan Talk start time to allow for parking, walking, finding the room, and set up.
Enter USC campus at the Downey Way Entrance - Address: Enter off Vermont at 36th Pl
STOP at the entrance. Provide the parking code to the parking attendant to receive your parking pass.
- If you do not get the parking pass to leave on your dashboard, you will get a ticket. Please only enter the Downey Way entrance and check in using the code provided to you.

Virtual Trojan Talks:

Location - Zoom: The Zoom meeting platform allows you to preset to up to 300 attendees. You will be able to see student attendees and speak directly with them.
Time: You will have 1 hour to present your content and answer student questions. We encourage you to leave the bulk of your time to questions and engagement with the student attendees.
Questions & Answers: In Zoom, attendees can unmute themselves to ask questions. The feature has a chat section, where all attendees can submit questions and you can either type the answer (it is viewable to all attendees) or answer the questions live (meaning, speak the answer during the presentation).

After your register for your Virtual Trojan Talk:

We will be hosting the Trojan Talk on our Viterbi Career Connections Zoom account, and you will receive a calendar invitation with the Zoom meeting link.

Each participant from your organization will need the zoom link and an existing Zoom account to join.
- Create a Zoom link for free.
After joining the Zoom meeting, you will create and present the content of the Trojan Talk, please have it ready to share on the day of your scheduled Trojan Talk 10 minutes prior to your presentation time.
You will also receive a calendar invitation from Viterbi Career Connections with the details, link and logistics included.
On the date and time of your Talk, log into Zoom 10 minutes prior to your presentation time.

On the date and time of your Trojan Talk:

Click the link in your email to join the meeting.
Have your content ready, and the Viterbi Career Connections staff member will share presenter capabilities with you. Then share your screen for students to view the presentation.
Then you will present your content, speak or openly chat with students. You will have a total of 1 hour.
We recommend preparing content that presents for a maximum of 20 minutes, allowing the remaining 20 minutes for student Q&A.
We recommend having a minimum of 2 people present your Trojan Talk. One person to cover the content and one to moderate the Q&A.

Students will add their questions in the chat box and you may answer them as the presentation goes, or at the end. It’s up to you.

You will receive a final invoice after your registration on Handshake as been approved. While we accept both credit card and check payments, credit card payments are preferred.

*Late payments will incur a $100 late processing fee.

Cancellations: Cancellations must be made in writing to vcareers@usc.edu. Refund is only issued after cancellation in writing has been received*

*Any cancellations less than 1 week from the event date will be billed for the full registration fee.
