Looking for an on-campus job? Review Handshake, where a number of on-campus opportunities are posted. Avoid Cold Emailing for On-Campus Jobs

While we understand students’ enthusiasm and determination to secure an on-campus job, we would like to offer guidance on more effective approaches to your job search.

Cold emailing is often not the most productive way to secure employment. University staff members are not always equipped to handle on-campus job inquiries, and your efforts might not yield the results you’re hoping for. Instead, we strongly encourage you to take full advantage of the resources available through the Find On-Campus Student Jobs page available from the USC Career Center, attend workshops, and seek career advising sessions to enhance your applications and professional communication. Following these steps will streamline your job search and help departments maintain an efficient hiring process.

By working with Viterbi Career Connections (VCC), you can present yourself to potential employers in the best possible light and tap into a network of opportunities designed specifically for you. If you haven’t yet explored these resources, I encourage you to stop by our career advising Drop-In hours or schedule an appointment with VCC today.

Wishing you all the best in your on-campus job search!
