Product management professional is responsible for understanding the market for new energy technologies, generating new business opportunities, and implementing and maintaining new solutions. Responsible for comprehending the market in-depth – tracking and identifying the intersection of technology trends with customer needs. Responsible for generating new opportunities – bringing forward solutions that are based on market dynamics, fit with strategy, and are financially viable. Responsible for implementation and maintenance of solutions – leading development, launch, and ongoing management activities. Responsible for the delivery of financial commitments associated with the approved opportunities. This includes budgetary commitments as well as earnings commitments. Responsible for coordination with internal and external partners to accomplish goals and achieve deliverables. Responsible for coordination with regulatory stakeholders regarding all aspects of the solution. Responsible for coordination of implementation, marketing, and operational plans. Responsible for communication of solution updates and performance to the organization.
Position will work with all levels of the organization to socialize, implement, and manage new energy technologies (for example – rooftop solar, energy storage, microgrid solutions and any associated pilots). The candidate will have a strong understanding of marketplace dynamics for new technologies, with the ability to comprehend trends and make data-backed recommendations on new opportunities. The candidate will have experience with financial modeling, developing infrastructure in support of a new solution, and being able to foster the growth of a concept to full implementation.
Responsible for the new technology development, implementation plans, marketing plans, operation plans as well as ensuring all deliverables and budgets are successfully managed and communicated to internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities will include:
Solution Life Cycle Management
Develop and maintain the product roadmap for new energy technologies. Ensure continual alignment of the roadmap with manager, functional leaders, and cross-functional peers. Communicate and drive awareness of the solution status and planning throughout all levels of the organization. Manage new solutions through the product life cycle, including: ideation and research, product development, launch, and in-market maintenance. Represent customer point-of-view in the execution and improvement of the solution. Own financial metric achievement and reporting, as well as price/cost management.
Organic Earnings Growth
Responsible for hitting annual and long-term financial objectives, reporting out on a monthly basis. Develop and implement pricing and channel strategies to drive growth. Work closely with sales and marketing teams to drive plan and identify incremental revenue opportunities. Develop and drive plan to obtain goals through price, cost, and mix initiatives. Drive continuous improvement to improve customer satisfaction
In-Depth Market Understanding
Command an in-depth knowledge of the market for new energy solutions. Track our performance and perception with key market segments. Track market activity, communicating to management and making recommendations as needed. Understand the needs of partners, shaping the solution to reflect their requirements as needed. Comprehend regulatory requirements and implications, reporting out to internal stakeholders as needed
Leadership and Engagement
Ability to lead cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and manage new technology solutions. Collaborate with other functions, including marketing, operations, legal, finance, and regulatory. Manage expectations with peers, upper management, and external stakeholders. Ability to synthesize multiple internal and external inputs and gain consensus. Ability to engage the organization and advocate for opportunities.
Essential: Bachelor’s degree
6+ years of relevant experience. Experience in working with partners to bring new technology solutions to market. Proven track record of conceptualizing, advocating for, and executing new solution opportunities.
5+ years of experience in product management or related field. Strong background in two or more of the following areas: product management, project management, business development, financial analysis or business/management. Experience in the energy industry highly preferred.
Functional/Technical Competency Requirements:
Strong business and financial acumen (including understanding of cost structures, budgets, etc.). Strong collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to lead effectively across functions (operations, engineering, sales, etc.). Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
