Microservices? Cloud? Cloud-Native Development? We hear these words often and they are everywhere in the industry these days. What are they? What’s the deal with them? What are they for and why should you care? If you are interested or simply curious about any of these, come and join IBM at its developer workshop to learn more.
In this workshop, IBM representatives will attempt to demystify these topics and offer you a practitioner’s perspective on why they matter. You will have a chance to get your hands dirty and build your first Java microservices as well as to dive deeper into various aspects of microservices!
To do the hands-on workshop, please bring your own laptops that meet the following criteria:
- A Java 8 JDK (e.g. https://adoptopenjdk.net/?variant=openjdk8&jvmVariant=openj9)
- Apache Maven 3.5.4 or later (https://maven.apache.org/). Older versions may not work.
- A git client
- An editor with Java support (e.g. Eclipse, VS Code, IntelliJ)
Please RSVP in the “Workshops” section of connectSC if you are interested in attending.
